DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SURFACE MOUNTED, RECESSED AND SEMI-SUBMERGED GAS METER BOXES
- Recessed Gas Meter Box : In this type of installation the meter box is installed within a cavity wall of a building or a pillar enclosure. You’ll have it directly into the wall, the meter box won’t protrude nor cause any obstructions.
- Surface Mounted Gas Meter Box : In some configurations such as older buildings without cavity wall, you’ll have to install a meter box which protrude a bit out of the wall (approximately 250mm), this is a surface mounted installation. For this you must be careful to place your meter box in an area that won’t cause obstruction, or where it can’t be easily damaged.
- Semi-submerged Gas Meter Box : This type of meter box installation is specific and might not be suitable for all types of property. A semi-concealed or semi-submerged meter box must be installed against an outer wall of a building while also being partially concealed in the ground.

- Easily cleaned and can be painted
- Complete with MK2 back plates, hinges, lock and key
- 3 part box (Door, box and back)
3009003 Brown IGT Semi-submerged Gas Meter Box
- Dimensions: 460 x 450 x 400 mm
- Suitable for all new build, I.G.T installations
- This meter box is approved by Sensus Metering, Krom Schroeder, GTC, IPL, Core Utilities and British Gas Connections
- Acceptable to most Independent Gas Transporters
- Lockable with triangular gas key
- Weather resistant
GB0006 Universal Smart Gas Meter Box
- Dimensions: 500 x 474 x 303 mm
- Designed for the standard meter installation kits
- Can be surface mounted, floor standing or partially buried
- Designed to accommodate a range of domestic gas meter types
- Fitted meter bracket
- Fitted Safety Door stay
- Will not corrode, weather resistant
- Door opening front to back
